2020 FPM Symposium

The Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) and the Continuing Professional Development Committee warmly welcomes you to Perth.

This symposium will be held on Friday May 1, prior to the ANZCA ASM, in the beautiful Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth.

Our theme for the day is “Impart Nurture Grow”. We will not only explore the challenging topics such as headache and orofacial pain, but also look at how our profession could develop and how we support the pain specialists of the future with a look at education and wellbeing within the specialty. In addition, there will be a session devoted to the intriguing field of intersection between pain medicine and rehabilitation.

We are excited to welcome our two FPM international speakers, Professor Bart Morlion (Belgium) and Professor Claudia Sommer (Germany).  As the president of the European Pain Federation and the director of the UZ Leuven Centre for Pain Management, Professor Morlion will share his experience and wisdom with his talk on managing our legacy patients. Professor Claudia Sommer, as the professor of neurology at University of Wuerzburg, is a world expert on headaches and neuropathic pain. We look forward to her presentation, an update on migrainous headache.

We truly have a program to satisfy delegates of all backgrounds and interests, and look forward to seeing you on the day to share this with.
