2014 Refresher Course Day

May 4, 2014 8am to 5pm
Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre

Description

The Faculty of Pain Medicine and the Continuing Professional Development Committee warmly welcome you to the Refresher Course Day.

Pain at the cutting edge: Surgery and pain

It is our pleasure to invite you to Singapore for the 12th Annual Faculty of Pain Medicine Refresher Course Day, to be held on Sunday May 4, 2014. The meeting will be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, just prior to the ANZCA/FPM Annual Scientific Meeting, which is being held in conjunction with the RACS Annual Scientific Congress for the first time.

The overall theme of the combined ASM is “Working together for our patients” encapsulating the importance of collaboration to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

The refresher course day will complement the main meeting with the theme "Pain at the cutting edge: Surgery and pain", exploring the interface between surgery and pain medicine. The program will examine the science underlying post-surgical pain and discuss issues surrounding the management of pain in the peri and post-operative period and the link between pain management and surgical outcomes.

The program is headlined by international guests Professor Audun Stubhaug (Norway) and Professor Jane Ballantyne (US) and will be complemented by the RACS invited international speakers Professor Robert Foreman and Professor Dirk De Ridder. There will also be speakers from Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong providing surgical, anaesthetic and pain medicine perspectives.

We look forward to seeing you in Singapore for what promises to be an exciting and challenging introduction to a truly unique ASM.
