How to apply

In Australia, all applications for the international medical graduate specialist (IMGS) assessment process should be forwarded directly to the College. Applications will be accepted by post (PO Box 6095, Melbourne, VIC, 3004 Australia) and must contain the documents listed on the application form.

In Australia the Faculty requires the following documents:

  • FPMANZCA Application Form.
  • CV in the FPMANZCA format, which is signed and dated within three months of your application.
  • Certified copies of all medical qualifications.
  • Certificate of Good Standing (example).
  • Certificate of Registration Status (example) (evidence of eligibility for registration as an independent specialist in your country of training).
  • Evidence of English language proficiency.
  • Position description in the FPMANZCA format (if you have secured a position in Australia).

The College requires that all qualifications are certified copies but does not require certification of any other documents.

In New Zealand, FPMANZCA will rely on the document submitted to the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). Please contact the MCNZ to determine what documents you are required to submit with your application.

Once the Faculty has received your application, an initial assessment will be undertaken. You may be required to provide further documentation and will be advised of this by email.
