Supervisors of training

Supervisors of training (SoTs) are the Faculty's representatives with respect to training in units accredited by the Faculty.

SoTs have an important role and should have a broad understanding of and experience in Faculty activities. They provide liaison between registered trainees, hospital or institution authorities and the Faculty regarding matters related to training.

A number of resources are available to support SoTs in their role.  We have included these and links to commonly used training forms in the list below.

Monitoring Trainees Progression

  • Trainees retain a training portfolio of their completed ITAs and WBAs.  For trainees who have moved to your unit from another unit, it would be helpful for you to review previous feedback to set appropriate learning goals during the orientation process.
  • Trainees can access a copy of their training profile report and can provide a copy to you on request.  A copy of this report is also available for your trainee from the Faculty office.
